This weekend marks the arrival of the Special Olympics Colorado annual Western winter games in Glenwood Springs. Today's events kicked off at Sunlight Mountain Resort, followed by tomorrow's festivities at Argonaut Farm.

Both days start with the Opening Ceremonies at 8:30 a.m., setting the stage for an action-packed schedule.

Today's Alpine competitions encompassed Giant Slalom, Slalom, Sit Ski, and Tether, Unified, with divisions for Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Snowboarding events feature Giant Slalom and Slalom, Unified.

Tomorrow's Nordic Winter Games showcase Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing, offering varied distances and Unified Races for participants.

With 19 teams in the lineup, over 200 athletes, Unified Partners, and coaches, alongside a dedicated team of 40 volunteers, these games promise spirited competition and community support.
